Philips introduced Airfryer on IFA Berlin
On the IFA 2010 in Berlin Philips introduced the Airfryer. A new type of kitchen appliance for fast and healthy food preparation based on Rapid AIr Technology. A technology developed by APDS.
Since 2010 it is possible to graduate at APDS for both bachelor and master studies in the field of product development.
A high resolution 3D printer enamble us to create physical model out of digital 3D data. This has proven to a very powerful tool which gives us much more flexibility during the product development process.

01/04/2008 - APDS recieves from EU for development of healthy
cooking concept
APDS has received subsidies from the EU for development of a new healthy cooking concept. The concept is under development since 2006 and is ready to be implemented in a new generation of cooking appliances. Subsidy is granted because of the positive effect on health, great economical potention and the high innovative value.
APDS is developing a new concept for healthy and tastefull food preparation. A new heating system for fast and intensive heat transfer, that heats food on all sides at the same time, guarentees that a hight level of nutritional values is preserved during cooking. The heating system can heat food very fast without a drop of oil or fat. This results in much healthier food when compared to traditional heating systems. See also www.kcscookingsystems.com.
APDS is always searching for possibilities to cut cost for development and production. Cooperation with Chinese companies gives opportunities to achieve this. APDS works together with some Chinese companies for prototyping, tooling, production and assembly of finished products for very competative prices. Also for doing parts of the engineering work China can be en interesting alternative. APDS is on constant contact with these companies the get projects done according to the highest possible standards.
Besides contract development projects APDS works on several new product concepts based on our own ideas. APDS has invested heavily in development of these concepts. For own projects we are responsible for all aspects of development and marketing. Business development is also part of the process. Good experience on this field is helpfull for other projects aswell, so all our customers can profit from this. A first product will be launched in the near future. This obviously is new milestone for APDS.
